this is sara. sara has a wonderful husband, tyler and a beautiful daughter, rachel.  sara also has cancer. i met up with sara earlier this week as she was getting together with her small group from church so that they could join together in love and support and shave sara’s head as the chemotherapy has begun taking it’s toll in that area. i was asked to document the evening for sara in photographs but before she shaved her head we headed outside to the neighborhood greenbelt for a few family shots while her natural hair was still intact.  she’s an incredibly brave women not only to endure what she’s enduring with the cancer but also to document it with pictures and to do so with all of her friends around her.  i love the fact that she seems to just take it all as it comes and simply do what needs to be done in a day…the attention cancer receives in her day is only when she’s doing what she has to do to get rid of it.  she definitely has the cancer rather than the cancer having her.
