…on another holiday season, and looking forward to a whole new year. there are some amazing things on the horizon for 2010, personally as well as professionally. if i’m able to reach half of the goals i’ve set, it’ll be wild for sure. before i say goodbye to 2009 altogether, i wanted to stop a second, and absorb some of the season. life goes so quickly, sometimes the only thing that helps me anchor memories into my head are photos. this was an especially fast-moving holiday season. so much so, that in the beginning, my focus was razor sharp on working and not at all on enjoying the moments. the season started off with me feeling pretty scrooge-y, in fact. much to my surprise, though, and without my realizing it, by the time it was over, i was very much in the holiday spirit…thanks to my family and friends. we filled the season with things that were not quite what we would have ordinarily done to celebrate the holidays, and i’m so glad. it was so much more fun and felt so much more real.

…at baby ethan rocket. more to come soon.

i’ve known tiffany and jake for several years and have always known that they’re a super sweet pair. however, i feel like i learned more about them in the hour that we hung out for this session than i had in the previous several years. sometimes i feel so blind until i get a lens in front of my face to really see things. some of the sweetest things i learned about these two: first and foremost, they are crazy about each other,  they’re totally comfortable with one another, they crack each other up…they’re a perfect pair, oh and tiffany has a smokin’ “sexy” face.

twins! talk about a whole lotta squishy baby cuteness and fun. daniel and ryan were amazing! they laughed, smiled, scooted,  sat, drooled, fell over, fussed…ever so slightly, but never ever cried (well, there was one teeny tiny instance when they mistook going into their bedroom for night-night time)! i’ve got to hand it to mom and dad though…they’re on top of things!

so, let’s get down to business and let the pictures do the talking.

this shot to me, says, “merry christmas, happy holidays, seasons greetings, happy new year, life is good, i love cookies and puppies are cute!” all rolled into one. it’s possibly the most amount of cute ever in one photograph.

this is a super sneaky sneak peek. i just wanted to post something for jake and tiffany, they’ve been so patient. i’ll have more up in a day or two.

wow! the calus family was incredibly entertaining! i photographed little jake a couple of months ago, right after he was born (take a look here). last sunday evening i had the pleasure of meeting and photographing his whole family. we started the session at bill and patti’s home and then headed over to their church to wrap it up. it was honestly a great time watching the whole family interact with one another!

i met with the williamson family on saturday evening for one of the easiest, laid-back family sessions i’ve had the pleasure of shooting. i hadn’t seen scott, debbie, chad and evie in ages so it was nice to catch up and see how little evie has grown. we strolled around The San Marcos Resort in Chandler on a gorgeous evening, snapping some shots of the fam…of course it turned into The Evie Show, I think it’s a two-year old thing.

wow! i’ve been a bad blogger this week. it seems life tends to sometimes dictate my schedule for me, leaving me unable to do it ALL.  this wonderful session has been waiting to be blogged for a week now. i love getting to shoot families repeatedly, it’s cool to see notice the changes in everyone from previous sessions. the kruckenberg kiddos are changing so much and only getting cuter and smarter by the minute.

i love this family. brian and gina are great friends of mine and my husbands and faith, eli and bella are all great friends with our kids…works out nicely.
