to help my lovely families prepare for their sessions, i’ve put together a little faq to help answer some commonly asked questions. so here goes…

WHAT DO WE WEAR?
good question, everyone asks it. my take on it is, be yourself. if you can’t see yourself wearing it, it’s not appropriate for lifestyle photography. if your favorite thing in the world to wear is a funky vintage-styled t-shirt and jeans…wear it. if you love prada and a fabulous dress…wear it. if it’s from etsy or anthropologie… WEAR IT. oh wait, that’s just my overwhelming infatuation with all things vintage-inspired peeking through, but seriously, if it is from etsy or anthropologie, it’s most likely a “go”. if you don’t feel like you have a defined “style” but you’re more of a grab whatever’s on sale at old navy kind of person, that’s cool too. one thing to remember, everyone in your family does NOT need to wear the same colors. you do not ALL have to wear jeans. you can if you want, but please don’t feel like you need to be overly-matchy. mixing colors, patterns and textures photographs wonderfully in fact. just keep everyone in the same color palette…aka, don’t put pastels on little sally and warm fall tones on little jimmy. hats, scarves, sweaters, etc…great. layering also photographs wonderfully. if you’re still unsure, look at the ads and in-store photography at your favorite stores.

SHOULD I HAVE MY HAIR AND/OR MAKE-UP PROFESSIONALLY DONE?
if you have the time and means to do so, sure. we all feel like an actual million bucks after leaving the salon and all that self-confidence is going to shine right through onto your images. if you’d like contact info for some totally fab hair and make-up people in OK or AZ, let me know…i’ve got the hook-ups.

CAN I BRING MY GUITAR/SOCCER BALL/GUINEA PIG/DRAWING SUPPLIES/BALLET SHOES/BIKE, ETC…?
lifestyle photography… so yes! please do.

HOW AND WHEN DO I PAY?
most people prefer to use credit card or paypal(i can email you an invoice, you do NOT need a paypal account), of course, a check or cash is also perfectly acceptable. payment should be made before or on the day of the shoot. if you do have a paypal account and are savvy, you can send funds directly to paypal@mistymichellephotography.com

IF MY GRANDMA/SISTER/UNCLE/DOG-WALKER/BABYSITTER/TARGET CHECK-OUT GIRL/ETC…WOULD LIKE TO ORDER PRINTS, DO WE ALL NEED TO ORDER TOGETHER?
nope. they just need to contact me with their choices (image #’s found on each image in your online proof gallery) and sizes. there’s no real benefit to combining orders, we do a flat $5 shipping on all orders to make it easy so you don’t have to worry about it. also, if you need to ship a partial order to more than one address, not a problem!

WHEN WILL MY PROOF GALLERY BE ONLINE?
usually within 10 days after the shoot.
